Gemini to close NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway as it sharpens focus on super app vision

Gemini is winding down its NFT marketplace, Nifty Gateway, to pivot its focus toward building a holistic, one-stop super app experience for its customers. The digital art platform has already entered withdrawal-only mode and will officially cease operations on February 23. Customers holding USD, ETH, or NFTs on the platform will receive email notifications with instructions for asset transfer. Nifty Gateway, an early player in the NFT space featuring exclusive drops from artists like Beeple, was acquired by Gemini in late 2019. Gemini stated it will continue to support NFTs through the Gemini Wallet, which launched in August 2025.
