Chainlink acquires transaction ordering solution Atlas, accelerating rollout of its ‘non-toxic MEV’ tool
Summary
Major blockchain infrastructure firm Chainlink has acquired Atlas IP, a transaction ordering tool developed by Fastlane, onboarding key Atlas personnel. Atlas will now exclusively support Chainlink and integrate into Chainlink SVR, a project designed to help DeFi applications recapture Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) from Chainlink Price Feeds, specifically targeting toxic MEV from liquidations. Both SVR and Atlas utilize a fair auction system for liquidation events, allowing protocols to auction the right to handle liquidations privately, generating revenue for both the protocol and the liquidating bot. Chainlink SVR has already processed over $460 million in liquidations, recapturing $10 million in "non-toxic MEV" for protocols like Aave and Compound. This acquisition is expected to accelerate Chainlink's multi-chain expansion of its Oracle Extractable Value (OEV) tool, which is already live on several major networks.
