Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest Makes Bold Bitcoin and Nvidia Prediction

In its "Big Ideas 2026" report, Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest presented a bullish long-term outlook for Bitcoin, projecting its market capitalization could reach $16 trillion by 2030, accounting for 70% of an estimated $28 trillion total crypto market. This implies a Bitcoin price target of approximately $800,000 per coin, based on improved risk-adjusted returns and its increasing role as 'digital gold.'

Conversely, ARK's view on Nvidia is more tempered. While global AI infrastructure spending is expected to exceed $1.4 trillion by 2030, driving demand for AI chips, the firm notes that hyperscalers are prioritizing total cost of ownership over raw performance. This opens the door for competitors like AMD, Amazon, and Google to gain ground with custom AI chips and ASICs, which may offer lower operating costs than Nvidia's high-end GPUs. Consequently, ARK suggests Nvidia's future stock trajectory will rely more on earnings growth and ecosystem lock-in rather than the explosive multiple expansion seen previously, implying slower growth and higher volatility.
