MegaETH to open mainnet for ‘global stress test’ before public launch

MegaETH, a high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 network, is opening its mainnet for a global stress test starting Thursday, aiming to process 11 billion transactions over seven days with a sustained throughput of 15,000 to 35,000 transactions per second. The test involves users interacting with gaming applications like Stomp.gg and backend swaps via DEX Kumbaya.xyz to simulate uncomfortable, sustained load, ensuring any issues are surfaced and fixed before the public launch. MegaETH, which relies on its native stablecoin USDm for predictable sequencer costs, plans to launch its public mainnet shortly after the test, featuring day-one applications in DeFi and consumer apps. The network, founded in 2022, previously raised $20 million in seed funding from investors including Vitalik Buterin and Dragonfly Capital.
