Solana Labs CEO Says Solana Must Adapt or Die

Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko believes Solana must constantly adapt and iterate to remain relevant, stating that it “shouldn’t depend on any single group or individual” and will “die” if it stops evolving to meet user and developer needs. This contrasts with Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin’s vision of Ethereum becoming a self-sustaining blockchain that requires minimal developer intervention for decades. While Ethereum prioritizes decentralization, privacy, and self-sovereignty, even at the cost of wider adoption, Yakovenko champions a dynamic ecosystem that introduces new features to address real-world demands. He even suggests utilizing AI to assist in future development and code improvements, funded by network fees. Buterin acknowledges Ethereum still requires improvements like quantum resistance and scalable architecture before it can achieve true self-sustainability.
