Tudou Guarantee, a Telegram-based escrow service associated with the illicit Huione Group, appears to be ceasing operations after refunding approximately $130 million in Tether USDt (USDT) to its public merchants since the start of 2026, according to blockchain analytics firm Bitrace. The company announced the shutdown via its Telegram channel on a Friday, with refunds peaking at $18.1 million on the preceding Sunday. This development is significant as Tudou Guarantee supported hundreds of vendors on a marketplace known for facilitating phishing and "pig butchering" romance scams. Blockchain security firm Elliptic had previously flagged thousands of wallets tied to Tudou Guarantee's operations, uncovering $89 billion in crypto received by these illicit wallets. Tudou Guarantee, rebranded from Huione Guarantee after being exposed in July 2024, was part of the Cambodia-based Huione Group, which also runs Huione Pay and Huione Crypto.
