Interactive Brokers unlocks 24/7 funding with USDC, plans to rollout Ripple and PayPal stablecoins next week
Summary
Interactive Brokers (IBKR) has enabled 24/7 account funding using Circle's USDC, a feature that allows traders to fund accounts and begin trading within minutes outside traditional wire transfer hours. This capability is powered by the B2B crypto infrastructure provider Zerohash, which automatically converts the deposited USDC (from Ethereum, Solana, or Base networks) into U.S. dollars credited to the brokerage account, charging a 0.30% conversion fee plus blockchain fees. IBKR CEO Milan Galik highlighted that stablecoin funding offers speed and flexibility for international investors. Furthermore, Interactive Brokers intends to expand its stablecoin offerings next week by rolling out support for Ripple’s RLUSD and PayPal’s PYUSD.
