Human Rights Foundation Grants 1.3 Billion Satoshis to 22 Freedom Tech Projects Worldwide in Q4 2025

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has announced 1.3 billion satoshis in grants from its Bitcoin Development Fund, supporting 22 projects worldwide focused on strengthening financial freedom and censorship resistance, particularly in authoritarian regimes. The funding will support open-source Bitcoin development, decentralized mining, privacy tools, and educational initiatives across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Projects include Stratum V2 for improved mining decentralization, Braidpool for peer-to-peer mining, and educational programs like 'Learning Bitcoin from the Command Line' and initiatives in Azerbaijan, Mozambique, Indonesia, and Thailand. Further support is allocated to Bitcoin Core developers, Lightning Network development, and freedom tech projects like Zapstore and Validating Lightning Signer, all aimed at empowering individuals and organizations facing political repression with access to permissionless and censorship-resistant financial tools.
