Ripple wins second European regulatory approval in a week

Ripple announced it has received preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, positioning the country as a key hub for MiCA compliance. Ripple President Monica Long stated that the EU's early adoption of comprehensive digital asset regulation provides the clarity needed for financial institutions to scale blockchain technology commercially. This approval is part of Ripple's strategy to expand its Ripple Payments service across the EU, offering 24/7 cross-border payment solutions. This milestone follows closely after Ripple obtained EMI and crypto asset registration from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority, broadening its regulatory presence in major European markets.
