YZi Labs Backs Genius as Trading Shifts Onchain

YZi Labs, an independent investment firm managed by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, has invested an eight-figure sum in Genius Trading, an onchain trading terminal, with Zhao also joining as an advisor. This investment signals a growing view that cross-chain trading infrastructure is becoming core market infrastructure as activity spreads across various blockchains and liquidity venues. Genius Trading functions as an interface aggregating execution across multiple blockchains and decentralized venues, focusing on execution tools like routing and workflow for large traders, rather than just liquidity. The firm aims to consolidate trading across major networks while prioritizing execution quality and privacy, addressing the "transparency bug" that large trades on public blockchains face when signaling intent. Genius Trading publicly debuted with support for spot trading, perpetual futures, and copy trading, having already processed over $160 million in volume across ten blockchains.
