The Protocol: Ledger customer data breached from Global-e platform

Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is dealing with a new data exposure incident stemming from its third-party payment processor, Global-e. An email confirmed that unauthorized access to Global-e's cloud system exposed personal details of Ledger users, specifically names and contact information. The email did not specify the number of affected customers or the timing of the exploit. This follows previous security incidents for Ledger, including a 2020 breach via Shopify and a 2023 hack affecting DeFi applications. Global-e detected the unusual activity, implemented controls, and launched an investigation confirming the improper access of personal data.
