The bill previously passed the House of Representatives in July 2025, and if the Senate passes it without amendments, it can proceed directly to President Donald Trump. Despite this progress, the industry remains divided on the legislation's final form. Concerns persist, particularly regarding illicit finance and sanctions compliance for DeFi front-ends, which Democrats are reportedly pushing for. While some industry figures see a potential deal, others, like Alex Thorn of Galaxy Digital, remain uncertain if bipartisan consensus can be reached on outstanding issues.
