The organizers of NFT Paris and RWA Paris conferences announced the cancellation of their events, initially set for February 2026, citing the severe impact of the market collapse. In a post, they stated, "The market collapse hit us hard," explaining that despite drastic cost cuts, they could not proceed this year. While the message suggested they were "clos[ing] this chapter," the organizers did not explicitly rule out future events. Regarding finances, some sponsors reported not receiving refunds, but NFT Paris committed to refunding all purchased tickets within 15 days. This cancellation follows a significant downturn in the NFT market throughout 2025, with sales dropping substantially and total market capitalization decreasing by 68% year-over-year as of Monday. Other major players have also adapted to the changing landscape; for instance, OpenSea announced a transformation from an NFT marketplace to a platform to "trade everything," and marketplaces like X2Y2 and Rarible have also pivoted their models due to unsustainable previous designs.
