Pakistan Could Become World Crypto Leader by 2030

Former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao stated that Pakistan has the potential to become one of the world's leading crypto nations by 2030, provided it maintains its current speed in regulation and adoption. CZ praised the Pakistani leadership for recognizing the demand among its young, tech-savvy population and moving quickly. Pakistan has recently formalized its crypto ecosystem by establishing the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), allowing exchanges like Binance and HTX to operate, and exploring Bitcoin reserves and real-world asset tokenization. CZ was particularly bullish on tokenizing the Pakistani stock market, arguing it would allow global populations to directly invest in Pakistani stocks, yielding significant benefits for the first countries to implement such systems. Furthermore, he noted that blockchain offers lower barriers to entry for entrepreneurs compared to traditional banking or AI, although he stressed the need for more education and incubators to foster innovation.
