ZachXBT Exposes Canadian Scammer Who Allegedly Stole Over $2 Million

Crypto investigator ZachXBT exposed a Canadian individual identified as Haby (Havard) for allegedly stealing over $2 million in cryptocurrency within the past year through social engineering scams impersonating Coinbase support. The stolen funds were reportedly spent on rare social media usernames, bottle service, and gambling. ZachXBT's investigation, detailed on X, traced thefts dating back to late 2024, including 21,000 XRP and over $560,000 in Bitcoin, supported by screenshots, wallet analysis, and leaked group chats where the alleged scammer boasted about his balances. Despite the large-scale theft, Haby exhibited poor operational security, posting selfies and lifestyle content. ZachXBT urged Canadian law enforcement to intervene, noting that while the jurisdiction rarely prosecutes such actors, the evidence in this case is substantial and the scammer shows no remorse.

This case highlights a growing trend where threat actors increasingly rely on social engineering and impersonation—manipulating trust and authority—rather than purely technical exploits, making human behavior the primary risk factor in the Web3 ecosystem, as noted by security firms.
