Strategy Reloads on Bitcoin, Buys 1,229 BTC for $109 Million

Strategy, the largest publicly traded holder of bitcoin, resumed its accumulation strategy by purchasing 1,229 BTC for approximately $108.8 million during the week ending December 28, at an average price of $88,568 per coin. This acquisition brings Strategy's total holdings to 672,497 BTC, acquired at an average cost basis of $74,997 per coin. The purchase was funded by selling 663,450 shares of Class A common stock through its at-the-market equity program. This follows a pause the prior week when the company bolstered its U.S. dollar reserves to about $2.2 billion. At the time of reporting, Strategy's holdings were valued near $59 billion, representing over $8 billion in unrealized gains. Earlier in December, Strategy had executed large purchases totaling nearly $2 billion.
