Trust Wallet users lose at least $6 million in security breach, ZachXBT finds

Crypto wallet provider Trust Wallet identified a security incident specifically impacting version 2.68 of its browser extension, with onchain investigator ZachXBT estimating initial user losses exceeding $6 million across hundreds of victims. The issue surfaced after ZachXBT alerted the community about funds being drained shortly after a recent extension update. Trust Wallet confirmed the breach via X, urging users on version 2.68 to immediately disable and upgrade to version 2.69. The company clarified that mobile-only users and other browser extension versions were unaffected, and advised users not yet updated to avoid opening the extension to prevent further compromise. This incident occurs amid a broader trend of increased cryptocurrency theft.
