The Clearing Company, founded this year by former Polymarket and Kalshi executive Toni Gemayel, previously raised $15 million in a seed round that included Coinbase Ventures. Nearly all of The Clearing Company's approximately 10 employees will join Coinbase to help scale the prediction markets product. While the deal value was undisclosed and deemed "immaterial," it involves a mix of cash and Coinbase stock. Both parties expressed that the acquisition will allow prediction markets to reach a much wider audience by leveraging Coinbase's global platform and distribution capabilities.
