The Ethereum Foundation (EF) appointed two new leaders, core researcher Hsiao-Wei Wang and Nethermind builder Tomasz K. Stańczak, in February 2025, following community concerns about the network's momentum. This hybrid leadership strategy pairs deep protocol knowledge with practical building experience as Ethereum transitions to global-scale infrastructure. Wang is a seven-year EF veteran, while Stańczak brings expertise from outside the Foundation. Their tenure coincided with ETH's significant price surge in 2025. Since taking charge, Stańczak has hosted open community calls, and the EF has released updated roadmaps focusing on privacy, security, and AI integration. Furthermore, Stańczak has engaged with traditional institutions amid renewed interest from tokenization and ETFs, marking this year as a key turning point for Ethereum's next chapter.
