Coinbase expands in Poland with Blik mobile payments integration

Major US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is expanding its payment options in Poland by integrating with Blik, a widely used local mobile payment network with nearly 20 million users. This integration was facilitated through a partnership with the European payment processor PPro. Coinbase executive Côme Prost stated that improving local payment rails is a key focus for driving crypto adoption through simple and familiar options. This expansion occurs while Poland is struggling to pass comprehensive cryptocurrency legislation, having recently seen a strict crypto bill vetoed by the President. Despite the regulatory lag, Poland remains a leader in European crypto adoption, ranking eighth in total crypto received according to Chainalysis' 2025 report. Coinbase already holds an EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license secured in June.
