Coinbase to launch stock, derivatives trading, prediction markets, and more

Coinbase is transforming into a unified financial hub by launching a diverse suite of new services beyond traditional cryptocurrency trading. These additions include stock, futures, and perpetuals trading, alongside prediction markets and expanded decentralized finance access on Solana. A major focus is Coinbase Tokenize, an end-to-end solution enabling institutions to bring traditional assets like equities, private company shares, and real estate on-chain, leveraging Coinbase's existing custody and distribution network. CEO Brian Armstrong stated that Coinbase is evolving from just a crypto trading venue to a place where users can trade "everything." Furthermore, the company introduced enterprise APIs, Coinbase Custom Stablecoins for businesses, and officially opened Coinbase Business in the US and Singapore to streamline payments, while also announcing that its Layer 2 network, Base, is fully out of beta.
