Vlad Tenev: Steering the Trading App Into the Crypto Realm

Vlad Tenev, CEO and co-founder of Robinhood, has significantly steered the trading application toward becoming a major force in the cryptocurrency industry throughout the year. Key strategic moves included the $200 million acquisition of Bitstamp, which secured over 50 global licenses and opened doors to institutional trading. Robinhood has also expanded its crypto offerings by launching staking services for ether and solana, enabling perpetual futures in the EU, and adding tokens like XRP, SOL, and BNB for U.S. users. Furthermore, the company is building its own layer 2 blockchain, Robinhood Chain, to facilitate faster, lower-fee tokenized asset trading. Tenev expressed strong conviction in the sector, stating that "tokenization is going to eat the entire financial system."
