XRP Ledger News: Upgrade of Rippled Lays Groundwork for Lending, Tokenization

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) released version 3.0.0 of its reference server software, rippled, which includes significant internal changes, bug fixes, and amendments aimed at improving accounting accuracy and developer tooling. While lacking headline user-facing features, the upgrade is crucial for the network's expansion into tokenization and DeFi. A key fix, fixTokenEscrowV1, corrects an accounting error where escrowed tokens with transfer fees were unlocked, ensuring consistent supply tracking by correctly accounting for net amounts after fees. Other amendments address edge cases in automated market makers (AMMs) and token delivery metadata. These foundational improvements, along with better logging and security hygiene updates, strengthen the ledger as it prepares for more complex financial use cases.
