Coinbase to unveil prediction markets and tokenized equities next week: Bloomberg

According to a Bloomberg report citing an insider, Coinbase Global is set to publicly announce the launch of two new products—prediction markets and tokenized equities—at a showcase on December 17. The tokenized equities product is reportedly being developed in-house without external partners. While a Coinbase spokesperson did not confirm the report, the exchange had previously hinted at these launches, and recent app code screenshots suggested the new functionalities. This move aligns with a growing trend in the crypto space, as major players like Gemini and Crypto.com are also expanding into the rapidly growing prediction market sector, which saw combined monthly volume of $7.7 billion in November.
