Standard Chartered (STAN), Coinbase (COIN) Expand Crypto Prime Services for Institutions

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and crypto-friendly bank Standard Chartered have expanded their existing digital asset partnership to explore developing a suite of services for institutional clients. These services include trading, prime services, custody, staking, and lending solutions. This expansion builds upon their current collaboration in Singapore, where Standard Chartered facilitates real-time Singapore dollar transfers for Coinbase customers. Margaret Harwood-Jones, Standard Chartered's global head of financing and securities services, stated their aim is to explore solutions that meet the highest standards of security and compliance. This development occurs as Coinbase gains more institutional trust, evidenced by JPMorgan bringing its JPM Coin to Coinbase's Base layer-2 blockchain.
