Bitcoin rewards app Lolli enables Lightning withdrawals

The Bitcoin rewards application Lolli has announced the integration of Spark, an open-source Layer 2 protocol from Lightspark, to enable Lightning Network withdrawals for user-held Bitcoin rewards. This move aims to address user complaints that arose after Lolli's acquisition by Thesis in July, particularly following a pause in withdrawals during a backend migration. Spark, founded by David Marcus, facilitates instant, self-custodial transactions and settles back to Bitcoin's base layer. The integration is expected to streamline access to BitcoinFi through Lolli and the broader Thesis ecosystem, with future collaborations planned for wallet integrations and incorporating bitcoin-native assets into Spark's infrastructure. The integration follows criticism from some users after Thesis integrated its EVM-compatible Mezo layer into Lolli before enabling onchain or Lightning transfers.
