Tether launches privacy-focused health platform with on-device AI

Tether has introduced QVAC Health, a new platform designed to give users control over their biometric information by aggregating data from various wearables and wellness apps into an encrypted, offline dashboard. The system utilizes on-device AI and peer-to-peer model downloads to analyze activity, nutrition, symptoms, and medication logs without relying on external servers. Features include experimental computer-vision tools for estimating calories from meal photos and correlating this data with wearable metrics to identify health patterns, all processed locally. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino described the platform as a "neutral ground for wellness data," emphasizing the company's commitment to privacy-preserving local intelligence. Future updates plan to incorporate direct Bluetooth Low Energy connections to read data from wearables, bypassing manufacturer APIs and cloud services. This initiative is part of Tether Data’s QVAC project, which focuses on device-based AI systems operating without centralized platforms, aligning with Ardoino's belief that local AI processing is the only reliable way to prevent data harvesting.
