Pineapple Financial Starts Migrating its $10B Mortgage Portfolio Onchain via Injective
Summary
Toronto-based fintech Pineapple Financial (PAPL) has launched a mortgage tokenization platform and begun converting loan records into digital assets on the Injective blockchain. The company has already migrated data for about $412 million in funded mortgages and plans to move its entire historical portfolio of over 29,000 loans, totaling approximately $10 billion, onto the chain. Each tokenized record contains over 500 data points, intended to streamline workflows, support automated verification, and improve risk modeling. Pineapple is building two products on this tokenized dataset: a permissioned Mortgage Data Marketplace for compliant analytics and Pineapple Prime, which will offer onchain access to mortgage-backed yield opportunities. CEO Shubha Dasgupta stated the move aims to improve transparency and efficiency while maintaining robust, end-to-end security for client data.
