NEAR Protocol achieves 1 million transactions per second in major scalability milestone

NEAR Protocol, a sharded layer 1 blockchain, has achieved a major scalability milestone by reaching one million transactions per second (TPS) in benchmark testing. This achievement validates the protocol's sharded architecture and its capacity for horizontal scaling without sacrificing decentralization. The milestone was made possible by the Nightshade 2.0 upgrade, which introduced stateless validation to improve efficiency and distribute workloads across shards, leading to better block times and finality.
