Strategy ($MSTR) Buys Nearly $1 Billion Worth of Bitcoin

Strategy, the largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, announced it acquired 10,624 BTC last week for approximately $962.7 million, marking its largest weekly purchase since mid-year. This acquisition, funded primarily through at-the-market equity sales, brings Strategy's total holdings to 660,624 BTC, valued at about $60.5 billion at current prices, yielding an estimated $11 billion in unrealized gains. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor noted the company's "BTC Yield" metric reached 24.7% year-to-date. Despite this aggressive buying, Strategy faces investor debate over its equity issuance strategy and regulatory uncertainty regarding potential exclusion from MSCI benchmarks, which could trigger passive outflows.
