CoinDesk's Most Influential 2025

CoinDesk has released its 'Most Influential 2025' list, recognizing 50 individuals and groups who significantly impacted the crypto industry throughout the year, encompassing both positive and negative contributions. The year 2025 was marked by Bitcoin hitting an all-time high of $126,000, Ethereum's major network upgrades, the mainstreaming of crypto via wrapped products like ETFs, and the resurgence of the U.S. as a dominant market. However, the industry also faced challenges, including market downturns, economic stress, personal security threats, and record crypto theft by malicious actors. The 50 honorees are categorized into 10 themes, with the presentation kicking off with U.S. President Donald Trump due to his significant effect on crypto discourse. The selection process involved a crowd-sourced long list reviewed by CoinDesk reporters and the public. While the list generally avoids annual repeat appearances, figures with massive, sustained impact, like Trump, are included again. The list is not a ranking but a recognition of influence across builders, policymakers, thought-leaders, and bad actors.
