French banking giant BPCE will start letting customers buy Bitcoin and major tokens on Monday
Summary
BPCE, France's second-largest banking group, is enabling customers to buy Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies starting next Monday through a phased rollout. The initial launch targets approximately two million clients across four regional banks, including Banque Populaire Île-de-France and Caisse d’Épargne Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, with a full expansion anticipated by 2026. Customers can purchase and sell assets like Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and USDC directly within existing banking applications. The service involves a monthly fee of €2.99 for a dedicated digital asset account and a 1.5% trading fee. Hexarq, BPCE’s crypto subsidiary which recently secured PSAN authorization, will manage the account operations and spearhead the group's digital asset expansion.
