Stablcoin News: Sony’s Soneium Platform Gets Digital Dollar by Startale, M0

Startale Group, the blockchain partner of Sony, has launched Startale USD (USDSC), a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, on Soneium, Sony's Ethereum layer-2 Web3 platform. USDSC is intended to be the default digital dollar for payments and rewards within the Soneium ecosystem. This launch coincides with Japan's increasing interest in stablecoins, as regulators have approved pilot projects for yen-based stablecoins from major banks, and Sony Bank plans its own issuance next year. The stablecoin is built using infrastructure from M0, and Startale is also introducing STAR Points, a rewards system to incentivize users for minting or holding USDSC and interacting with decentralized applications via the Startale App. Startale CEO Sota Watanabe stated the goal is to make Web3 tools feel familiar for everyday transactions.
