MetaMask rolls out Transaction Shield, a new transaction loss protection feature

MetaMask has introduced Transaction Shield, a premium, opt-in security upgrade for its wallet that provides transaction loss protection and 24/7 priority support. For a subscription fee of $9.99 per month (or $99 annually with a discount), users can receive coverage up to $10,000 per month for transactions that MetaMask's automated security checks and simulations deem safe. This protection applies to approved actions like DeFi swaps, NFT mints, and verified airdrop claims across networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and Polygon. The service is currently available on the MetaMask Extension, with mobile support planned for later. Importantly, the coverage excludes losses from compromised wallets, general market fluctuations, or protocol exploits, and users must file claims within 21 days.
