Crypto Payments Firm Truther to Launch Non-Custodial USDT Visa Card in El Salvador

Crypto payments company Truther is set to launch a non-custodial Visa card in El Salvador on January 29 through a partnership with Visa. This card allows users to spend USDT directly from their self-custody wallets on the Polygon blockchain at the moment of purchase, eliminating the need to preload funds or use custodial services. The card will incur a 2% fee on currency conversions, but Brazilian users will be exempt from the IOF tax. Following the El Salvador launch, the card will be available globally. Truther's existing infrastructure already processes $40 million daily volume by linking stablecoins to Brazil's PIX system. The company is also expanding its Swapix API to Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Russia, prioritizing markets with 24/7 payment infrastructure and QR code support.
