Coinbase to acquire Vector.fun, the Tensor-built Solana trading platform, to advance “everything exchange” vision
Summary
Crypto exchange Coinbase has agreed to acquire Vector.fun, a Solana-native trading platform developed by Tensor Labs (the team behind the Tensor NFT marketplace), for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition is intended to expand Coinbase's presence in the Solana ecosystem, as Vector's infrastructure can identify and integrate new onchain assets quickly, which will plug into Coinbase's DEX trading integration to improve speed and asset access. The deal supports Coinbase's broader vision of building an "everything exchange" that offers 24/7 access to onchain markets. Concurrently, Vector's mobile and desktop apps will cease operation, and the Tensor Marketplace and TNSR token will transfer to the independent Tensor Foundation for community governance. Vector co-founder Ilja Moisejevs confirmed that he, Richard Wu, and 11 Vector.fun employees are joining Coinbase to support its onchain strategy.
