Security firm SlowMist founder Yu Xian reported the emergence of a new crypto phishing-as-a-service operation named Eleven Drainer, which has become increasingly active and is expanding its techniques to target wallet users. Eleven Drainer joins established services like Angel and Inferno Drainer, which provide scammers with necessary tools like cloned websites and smart contract scripts in exchange for a cut of stolen funds. These draining services have become central to modern crypto phishing, contributing to an estimated $494 million in losses in 2024, a 67% increase from the prior year. Despite the growing sophistication of these groups, security experts stress that user behavior remains the weakest link, as attackers rely on social engineering and misleading prompts to trick users into signing malicious transactions.
