The decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol Balancer has reportedly experienced a significant security exploit, leading to the loss of about $70.6 million in digital assets. On-chain data shared by Lookonchain indicated that the stolen assets included roughly 6,587 WETH (valued at $24.46 million), 6,851 osETH (valued at $26.86 million), and 4,260 wstETH (valued at $19.27 million) transferred from Balancer-related liquidity pools. This incident marks another security challenge for the protocol, which previously faced a smaller exploit in 2023 involving the theft of around $238,000.
