Swiss Crypto Bank AMINA Secures MiCA License in Austria
Summary
AMINA, a Swiss digital asset bank previously known as SEBA Bank, has secured a regulatory license from Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA) for its subsidiary, AMINA EU. This approval allows AMINA EU to launch and expand its cryptocurrency services—including trading, custody, portfolio management, and staking—to professional investors across the European Union under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework. Austria was selected as the European entry point due to its regulatory excellence and strong investor protection standards, hosting other major crypto firms like Bitpanda. AMINA CEO Franz Bergmueller praised the FMA's high standards, noting that the bank already holds a Swiss banking license from FINMA and crypto licenses in Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, offering regulated services from bank accounts to crypto-bank loans and tokenization products.
