Ethereum devs officially target Dec. 3 for Fusaka upgrade

The Block
Ethereum developers have officially set December 3rd as the mainnet go-live date for the upcoming Fusaka hard fork upgrade.

Summary

Ethereum Foundation researchers have officially scheduled the mainnet activation for the Fusaka hard fork upgrade for December 3rd, following the final testnet deployment on Hoodi. This date had been tentatively targeted since mid-September. Fusaka is a backward-compatible upgrade implementing about a dozen Ethereum Improvement Proposals aimed at enhancing the basechain's sustainability, security, and scalability, particularly for the Layer 2 ecosystem. Key features include the implementation of Peer Data Availability Sampling (PeerDAS), which was previously delayed from the Pectra upgrade, and an increase in the block gas limit from 30 million to 150 million units, expected to double blob capacity. Leading up to the launch, the Ethereum Foundation also initiated a four-week audit contest offering up to $2 million for security researchers who find bugs.
