Mythical Games Taps Sam Altman’s World to Keep Players Safe From Bots

Gaming studio Mythical Games, known for titles like NFL Rivals, is collaborating with Sam Altman's blockchain project, World, to address the growing problem of bots distorting in-game economies. As part of this partnership, Mythical will build Mythos Chain, which will be the first layer-3 blockchain built atop World Chain, the layer-2 network on Ethereum. This integration will grant Mythical's 17 million players access to the World ecosystem, utilizing World ID's proof-of-humanity protocol to verify users. Mythical aims to ensure that only verified human players can access critical parts of its ecosystem, such as tournaments and asset marketplaces, thereby keeping gameplay fairer and more transparent, as research indicates nearly 75% of gamers find bots detrimental to enjoyment. The resulting layer-3 chain will leverage World Chain's network to maintain Ethereum's security while providing faster, cheaper transactions optimized for verified human players.
