Qtum Launches Ally: The Desktop AI Agent Advancing Automation, Control, and Privacy

The Qtum Foundation has launched Qtum Ally, a new desktop AI agent designed to move beyond simple conversational bots toward customizable automation tools. Ally emphasizes user control and privacy by running natively on Windows and Mac, offering an alternative to remote hosting. It supports 12 different LLMs within one application and allows users to load custom models. A key feature is its integration with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which acts as a universal interface for AI systems to share data and integrate with external tools, enabling users to automate multi-step workflows without coding. For example, Ally can find rental properties, compile a list, create a PowerPoint, and email the results using coordinated MCP servers. Furthermore, Ally is free and temporarily offers access to premium features of top LLMs, including paid tiers of ChatGPT 5. Qtum, a smart contract platform launched in 2017, developed Ally as part of its recent AI initiative.
