The Norwegian Tax Administration announced that over 73,000 people reported owning cryptocurrency in their 2024 tax returns, marking a 30% year-over-year increase from 2023. This surge follows recent measures by the authority to boost reporting compliance, which Tax Director Nina Schanke Funnemark welcomed. The total declared crypto holdings amounted to over $4 billion, resulting in reported gains of approximately $550 million and losses of $290 million.
