Elon Musk launches Grokipedia — an encyclopedia where AI gets the last word

Elon Musk launched Grokipedia, an AI-powered, open-source encyclopedia designed to be a truth-focused alternative to Wikipedia, following his criticisms of Wikipedia's editorial practices. Musk stated that Grokipedia aims for "truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" and is free for anyone to use. A key difference is that X's Grok AI dictates and moderates content, with users able to request changes, but the AI makes the final decision. Early comparisons showed differences in focus; for instance, the Grokipedia article on George Floyd initially emphasized his criminal record, whereas Wikipedia highlighted that he was killed by a "white" police officer. Musk had previously delayed the launch to "purge out the propaganda." While Musk alleges Wikipedia has a left-wing bias, the Wikipedia article on Grokipedia notes critics' concerns that Grokipedia might be slanted toward Musk's far-right viewpoints.
