Booking.com Impersonation Targets Crypto Users in Scam

CoinGecko CEO Bobby Ong alerted the public on October 27, 2025, about fraudulent emails using Booking.com's systems to advertise a fake "Exclusive Crypto Travel Summit" in Dubai in November 2025. The scam emails falsely claimed a partnership between Booking.com and Coinbase to launch crypto travel services and listed Vitalik Buterin and Brian Armstrong as keynote speakers. Booking.com confirmed the scam and is investigating, advising users that they do not communicate via Telegram or WhatsApp for recruitment or support, and urging users to report suspicious contacts and avoid clicking unknown links. This incident is part of a broader pattern of sophisticated scams targeting the crypto community, following recent warnings from Binance about fake listing agents and customer support impersonators.
