According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a pardon for convicted Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao on Wednesday. Zhao pleaded guilty in November 2023 to violating the Bank Secrecy Act by failing to implement an adequate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program at Binance. He was sentenced in April 2024 to four months in a U.S. prison and was released in September.
