Revolut Secures MiCA License in Cyprus, Expanding Regulated Crypto Services Across EU
Summary
Fintech giant Revolut has secured a Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). This authorization allows Revolut to provide regulated crypto services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), reinforcing its compliance-first strategy.
The company plans to launch "Crypto 2.0," an enhanced platform featuring over 280 tokens, zero-fee staking with yields up to 22% annually, and direct 1:1 stablecoin-to-USD conversions without spreads. Revolut's operations in Cyprus will serve as the central hub for its EEA crypto activities, building upon its existing Revolut X platform and wallet integrations.
Costas Michael, CEO of Revolut Digital Assets Europe, stated that securing the license reflects CySEC's confidence in their regulatory standards, enabling them to deliver next-generation crypto products under the clarity provided by MiCA.
