'Millisecond' preconfirmations make it to Ethereum via new RPC
Summary
Ethereum infrastructure platform Primev has introduced its "FAST RPC" solution, allowing Ethereum mainnet transactions to achieve preconfirmation times under 200 milliseconds. Preconfirmation is an early signal from a block builder that a transaction will likely be included in the next block. This technology enables fast Ether transfers, smart contract interactions, and NFT minting, theoretically bringing Ethereum's perceived speed close to high-speed layer 1 blockchains like Sui. Primev's founder, Murat Akdeniz, demonstrated a near-instant ETH transfer preconfirmed in 377ms. While established RPCs like Infura and Alchemy have greater scale and battle-testing, Primev's solution offers a significant speed boost for users preferring to remain on Ethereum mainnet rather than using Layer-2 solutions. Integration involves connecting a wallet, replacing existing RPCs with FAST RPC, and depositing funds into Primev’s "gas tank."
