‘The smartest wallet wins’: Industry leaders say AI and UX will drive the next wave of mainstream crypto adoption

At a Zebu Live panel, industry leaders from Base, Rhinestone, Zerion, and Askgina.ai agreed that the next phase of mainstream crypto adoption will be driven by significant improvements in wallet usability, particularly through AI integration and better user experience (UX).

Key innovations discussed include abstracting away complex key management using embedded wallets, passkeys, and smart accounts familiar to Web2 users, as noted by Rhinestone's Kurt Larsen. Base is focusing on a mobile-first, social experience with its new app, aiming to onboard the early majority by making the wallet the central entry point to Web3. Fragmentation across multiple chains remains a barrier, which firms like Rhinestone are addressing with intent-based architecture to handle cross-chain settlement seamlessly.

Furthermore, AI is transforming wallets into proactive, agent-assisted interfaces, allowing users to execute complex actions, like bulk trades, using natural language prompts, as described by Askgina.ai's Sid Shekhar. The consensus is that future wallets will evolve into 'super apps' resembling social or banking platforms, where users will expect intuitive functionality without needing to worry about underlying complexities like gas fees or key management.
