This update introduces a per-transaction gas cap of approximately 16.78 million units, designed to improve block efficiency by preventing single transactions from consuming an entire block's gas (previously up to 45 million units), thereby mitigating DoS risks and supporting scalability. The Fusaka upgrade (EIP-7825) also raises the default block gas limit to 60 million and debuts PeerDAS (Peer Data Availability Sampling), which reduces hardware demands by allowing nodes to sample only small portions of Layer 2 blob data. The next testnet deployment is scheduled for the Hoodi testnet on October 28, with the overall goal of preparing the network for parallel execution.
